Dr Jane Ralls is a highly experienced General Practitioner, with a special interest in Mental Health.
She provides counselling, providing evidence-based therapies to help parents, especially those with anxiety and/or depression in the context of having a baby or toddler.
From July 2025 she will be providing an “Adjustment to Parenting” Clinic on Monday and Friday mornings, with 45-minute appointments for any parents needing mental health support. These appointments are for all parents, including those outside of her Mt Hawthorn patient base. There will be a Medicare Rebate for 10 sessions per year after a Mental Health Care Plan is completed, which she is happy to do herself.
On Mondays and Friday mornings she will also offer long appointments to pregnant and breast-feeding mothers and will see babies under around one year of age. She will do 6-week checks, help with breast feeding and unsettled babies, manage infantile eczema/ dermatitis, assess development, and offer all immunisations. (This does not include seeing acute illnesses, sore ears etc).
Parents are encouraged to keep their own GP as she will help parents with their mental health only and will be more of a secondary service for advice with the babies. She does not have the capacity to take on new GP patients during the rest of the week.
Appointments at the Adjustment to Parenting Clinics will be privately billed, although of course Dr Jane will always listen and adjust gap fees where there is financial hardship.
I like to travel and experience different cultures, their music and food. I also enjoy cooking, but unfortunately the food doesn’t always turn out like they do in the pictures.
I feel it is important to have a well balanced work and family life.
I look forward to meeting you at Mt Hawthorn Medical.
